WHAT THE PEOPLE SAY

I have attended a number of Kevin’s shows by now. Each one has been drastically different with new acts every time, while continuing to keep the mystical charm of a classic magician. Each show in itself is very diverse as well, ranging from traditional magic to mind games to imagination-provoking stories. When seeing one of Kevin’s shows, you aren’t just seeing a magician, you’re also seeing a storyteller, an academic, an entertainer to name a few.
I’ve now attended two of Kevin’s shows and come away impressed each time. They’re ideal entertainment. Likely to wow whether you’re looking for a fun date activity, a start to a night out with friends or if you simply want to feel mystified.
To be clear, his shows typically do not involve standard “tricks” (i.e., sawing folks in half) but rather mentalism, mystery and illusion. The results are more baffling that way as he gets you and the audience involved in the trick and somehow gets you to do what he wants (e.g., drawing what he draws or predicting what numbers/vacations/anything you will choose).
Still haven’t figured out any of the secrets although I have suspicions. The pace of the show, the narration and the humorous monologues are also different from any typical “magic” show that you might have in mind. He’ll make you laugh at the same time you sit there wondering how he did something. Highly recommend.
I’ve gone to every show Kevin’s put on at the Exit in San Francisco, and they were all amazing. He always changes things up and keeps the audience guessing. I really appreciate the depth of his shows- it’s not slight of hand or silly tricks but rather very interesting psychological games that everyone can relate to. His themes (fear, dreams, etc) are also very relatable, and his delivery is great as well. I would definitely go to his shows again!
Illusions, storytelling, audience participation, WTF moments.
I’ve attended a handful of shows and I always leave in amazement over how he pulled everything off. From his charismatic on-stage persona to the mind-blowing finale, Kevin is a blast to watch and an awesome activity for an SF evening.
Kevin recently performed at our Stanford d.school event and wowed the guests with his magic. He was also wonderful to work with– prompt, on time, and took direction well. I would recommend him highly for any type of occasion.
Friends, parents, or a date–it’s hard to imagine someone I wouldn’t want to invite to a Kevin Blake show. He has a witty humor and expert showmanship that is matched with an engaging candor. I always leave the show with a grin; Happy with the storytelling and baffled by the acts.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I was invited to a “magical” show, but I was quite impressed. Kevin does a great job of engaging the audience (and delighting them at the same time). His show was a mix of astonishment and comedy, something that is not easily recreated. 5/5 stars, would definitely see again.
I attended Kevin’s show in February 2015. The illusions were mind boggling and his humor and wit elevated the whole performance. A must see.
Kevin’s show was a captivating. His ability to keep the crowd on its toes is unparalleled and the show kept me laughing and in awe! From card tricks to slam poetry to brain teaser segments, Kevin is a master at keeping an entire venue in wonderment for the entirety of the show. Highly recommend and can’t wait to see the Wonder Show again soon!
Kevin’s show was truly magical! My friends and I had the best time and could not stop talking about it afterwards. I hiiiiighly recommend attending one of his performances as it is so unique and fun.
Heard about this guy from a friend. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but was so pleasantly surprised! If someone were to ask me if I recommend seeing this show, the answer would be an emphatic and definitive YES!!!! Loved it
I attended Kevin’s “Secrets” show in February of 2015. The show was an impressive blend of magic, spoken word, hilarious audience interactions and charm. A must-see when traveling though SF.
When I first met Kevin, I honestly thought he was joking about being a magician. Life has made me cynical like that. I imagined poorly executed rabbit-appearance acts and coin tricks.
Alas! Kevin has shown that it’s possible to have an exciting, new experience with the same mystery and wonder that make the previously mentioned tricks so attractive to a younger audience. He’s able to tell a good story while performing acts that make me question what’s really possible with the mind. The humor and intrigue he injects into each show keeps you wanting more and asking how. Both shows I’ve been to have been truly magical.
